My name is Dzifah, pronounced jee-fa . I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder.
I am majoring in Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, Art History, with a minor in Technology, and Media Arts. I am passionate about communicating through various mediums, utilizing both art and media.
I grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. From an early age I have been involved in the arts. My family has always encouraged me and inspired me to take part in creative fields. My mother was a seamstress and artist for many years. My father makes wood sculptures and furniture by hand. Growing up in a creative family has always influenced me.
I was always enrolled in art classes. I took ballet and tap dancing classes for 15 years. I also played the flute including in marching band. These activities all contributed to my interest in the creative field as a career.
My artistic background, began in lower level school, but is continuing in my track in college. I have mainly dabbled in digital art. I have focused enhancing my graphic design abilities, as well as photography and video. While most of my work has been done through classes, I enjoy doing my own projects on the side. I really enjoy playing with things like text and fonts, and find that words can be very visually interesting.
I also like to focus on simple and somewhat minimalistic designs, that are maybe enhanced by a subtle and interesting color palette. Overall my hope is that I will be able to use my love of art and art creation in my career.
